Grinding foward.
Just some recent stuff ive been working on.
Ill be attending the light grey concept art workship starting on the 30th so i thought ide practice some character stuff.
Also, ive been continuing experimenting with inking and design work.
Everyone's work and enthusiasm is extremely inspiring. Since i live in the middle of nowhere, with no real art community, it has been great connecting with everyone over facebook/twitter. Thanks a lot for all the support!

Freelancing Question
Hey guys!
No work to post at the moment, but I was wondering if I could ask you guys a question and perhaps get some feedback.
I was contacted by someone who asked for a quote on a character design for an iPad app. I checked out the company he works for and it is international and has done work for some pretty big-name clients.
I can come up with a range for the basic character design, but since this is for an app I'm not sure where the usage rights fall. The Graphic Artist's Guild Handbook for Pricing and Ethical Guidelines doesn't really cover that for online media. Does anyone know offhand if I should charge for usage rights or if this is a case where I don't retain usage rights or royalties?
Thanks in advance, miss you guys!

Don't Forget
Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing so well! It's hard to believe it's been a month since bootcamp. Just wanted to share this little fun lettering project I contributed to Alyssa Nassner's new project, Positive Inking. The project features daily illustrated and hand-lettered affirmations to inspire you when you are in a bit of a rut (as we all are at some point, right?). My first post is a hat tip to The Vlogbrothers. Just a reminder that not matter what you are doing, never forget to just be your awesome self.

Learning.
Been trying to focus on doing more complex work "in context" instead of random doodles in my sketch book.
In these two i was trying to figure out a workflow. Ive been really getting into mixing Digital and Traditional.
I know i just gotta keep at it... right now this stuff isnt turning out the way i want it... but i guess that is part of learning.
(inspired by the movies "Titan AE" and "Castle in the Sky".)

Further Progress on Exquisite Corpse
The mock up for my piece in the Night of the Exquisite Corpse Show at the Light Grey Art Lab is ready! This is my MPLS Bike Punk, showing his angst toward the whiny Portland for stealing the #1 Bike City title. ANGST!! Now time to dive into the final illustration work!

Inking Expirements.
Lately ive been really inspired by Andres to continue with the inking practice. I've found that its really a great way to understand value and relationships in the simplest way.
Here are a couple of my dabblings. Check out morecrap Art on my blog. Aryehart.tumblr.com
